By our reporter| The federal government on Monday summoned Iva Denoo, chargè d’ affaires of the high commission of Ghana to Nigeria over the demolition of a building at the Nigerian embassy in Accra last Friday.
Nigeria’s foreign affairs minister, Geoffrey Onyeama, in a Tweet via his verified Twitter hande said the Ghanaian envoy was summoned to give an urgent explanation on the attack as well as an update on security for diplomatic premises and staff.
Onyema tweeted, “Summoned the Chargè d’ Affaires of the High Commission of #Ghana to Nigeria, Ms Iva Denoo to demand urgent explanation on the recent attacks on a residential building in our diplomatic premises and reinforcement of security around diplomatic premises and staff.
Onyeama had earlier expressesd Nigeria’s displeasure at the attack and demanded that those responsible for the attack should be brought to book.
The Ghanaian government on Sunday assured Nigeria that the perpetrators of the act would be punished.
