President Muhamadu Buhari of the All Progressives Congress has widened his lead over main challenger, Atiku Abubakar in last Saturday’s presidential election by running up big numbers in Kano, Sokoto, Bauchi, Katsina, Kaduna, Ogun and Lagos states States.

According to results announced by Local Government Collation Officers in Bauchi on Monday, Buhari polled 798,438 to defeat his rival of the Peoples Democratic Party, Alh. Atiku Abubakar who got 209,312 votes.

Buhari won in 19 of the 20 local governments in the state with wide margin while Atiku was the winner in only Bogoro local government.

The Resident Electoral Commissioner, Ibrahim Abdullahi, thanked party agents and observers for their patience.

The State Collation Officer who is the Vice-Chancellor of Federal University, Kashere, Gombe State, Prof. Alhassan Ghali, also commended the gathering for their support.

Kaduna State

President Muhammadu Buhari has also won 15 of the 23 local government areas in Kaduna State.

The results from the 23 local governments were received Monday evening.

In the result released by INEC, Buhari polled a total of 993, 482 to defeat his closest rival, Atiku Abubakar, who had 613, 318.

Katsina

President Muhammadu Buhari, the candidate of the governing All Progressives Congress (APC), has also defeated Atiku Abubakar of the opposition Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Katsina state.

According to the results from the 34 local governments received by the state collation officer for Katsina State, Fatima Mukhtar, a professor, Buhari scored 1,232,133 votes to beat his closest challenger, Atiku Abubakar of the PDP, who scored 308,056 votes.

A difference of 924,077 votes exists between both candidates.

Mr Buhari won in all the 34 local government areas in the state.

Mr Buhari also won Katsina with a wide margin in 2015, beating former president Jonathan with 1,345,441 votes. Jonathan won 98,937 votes.

Jigawa state

The presidential candidate of the ruling All Progressive Congress (APC), Muhammadu Buhari, continued his impressive showing by beating Atiku also in Jigawa state.

The president won in all the 27 local Government Councils of the from the result released by INEC.

According to results released by the collation officer, Abdullahi Zuru, the APC candidate polled 794, 738 votes to defeat his challenger Atiku Abubakar of the PDP who had 289,895 votes

The result which showed a difference of 504,843 votes represents a 73.3 per cent victory for Mr Buhari. Mr Abubakar’s tally was 26.7 per cent of the total valid votes.

The total number of registered voters in the state stood at 2,104,889 while accredited voters are 1,171,801.

Total valid votes were 1,106,244 and rejected votes were 436,878. The total votes cast was 1,149,922.

Ogun State

The presidential candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Muhammadu Buhari, was also declared the winner of the presidential election in Ogun State with 281,762 votes.

His closest rival, Atiku Abubakar of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), polled 194,655 votes.

The results from the 20 local government areas of the state were announced by the returning officer, Joseph Fuwape, at the INEC headquarters in Abeokuta.

He gave the total accredited votes as 605,938, valid votes 564,256, while rejected votes were 41,682 and total votes cast 605,938.

Lagos State

President Muhammadu Buhari has won the Presidential election in Lagos state, defeating Atiku Abubakar of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) with a 132,798 vote margin.

The margin was lower than the 160,143 votes with which Buhari defeated Jonathan in 2015 in the state.
In 2015, Buhari polled 792,460 votes, while Jonathan got 632,327.

In the latest results announced by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) in Yaba, Lagos, on Monday afternoon, Buhari polled 580,814 votes to beat Atiku, who got 448,016 votes.

While Buhari won in 15 local government areas of Lagos, Atiku won in five councils.

Kano State

President Muhammadu Buhari of the All Progressives Congress (APC) equally won in all the Local Government Areas of Kano State, according to the result of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC).

Results for the 44 LGAs in Kano have been announced and Atiku Abubakar, presidential candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), did not secure a single win in the state.

In the result announced in Kano, Muhammadu Buhari of the APC polled 1,464,768 (78.9%) of the vote cast, while Atiku Abubakar of the PDP polled 391,573 (21.1%).

Sokoto State

President Muhammadu Buhari won 19 local government areas in Sokoto state, while Atiku Abubakar got four councils in Saturday’s Presidential election.

The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that the results were collated and declared on Monday by the Chief Returning Officer of the state, Prof. Yahuza Bello.

Bello, who is the Vice-Chancellor Bayero University, Kano State, said Buhari, the All Progressives Congress (APC) candidate scored the highest votes of 490, 333 in 19 councils.

He said Abubakar of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) scored 361, 604 votes out of 871, 891 total votes cast while 54, 049 votes were voided.

Sokoto is under the control of Governor Aminu Tambuwal, a member of the PDP.

Atiku wins Enugu, Adamawa, Plateau, Akwa Ibom, Plateau, Edo

Atiku Abubakar, the presidential candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) was on Monday declared winner of presidential election conducted in Enugu, Adamawa, Plateau and Akwa Ibom states on Saturday.

The former vice president won in all the 17 local government areas of Enugu state.

He scored a total of 355,553 votes with President Muhammadu Buhari picked 54,423 votes.

The State Collation officer, Prof. Joseph Ahaneku, said that the results were carefully collated and observers at the collation hall were satisfied with the job done.

Ahaneku, who is also the Vice Chancellor of Nnamdi Azikiwe University (UNIZIK) Awka, said the state had 1,944, 016 registered voters with total accredited voters of 452,765 for the polls proper.

He said the total number of valid votes is 421,014 while invalid votes remained 30,049 in the exercise in the state.

The results of the election as it at the various 17 council areas as follows:

· In Enugu South council area, PDP got 25, 631 votes, APC gathered 2,350 votes, YPP 245, APGA 84 AND PPA 25.

· Aninri council area, PDP got 19,062 votes; APC gathered 1,462 votes, APGA 251 and PPA 30.

· In Ezeagu council area, said that PDP got 15,526 votes, APC gathered 3,103 votes; APGA 166 and APDA 21.

· In Enugu North council area, PDP got 24, 921 votes; APC gathered 1825 votes; YPP 284, APGA 33 and APDA 32.

· Isi-Uzo council area, PDP garnered 15,224, while APC got 2336 votes.

· In Awgu council area, PDP got 16,581 votes and APC gathered 5,857.

· Oji River council area, PDP gathered 14,893 and APC got 1487.

· Igbo-Etiti council area, PDP obtained 20,946 and APC got 3045.

· Igbo-Eze North council area, PDP gathered 16,228 and APC 4,931.

· In Nkanu East council area, PDP got 12,098 and APC gathered 4,824.

· Udi council area, PDP gathered 24,544 and APC obtained 2871.

· Nkanu West council area, PDP got 16982 and APC obtained 5500.

· In Igbo-Eze South council area, PDP obtained 21693 and APC 1983.

· Nsukka council area, PDP got 46,265 and APC gathered 2922.

· Udenu council area, PDP gathered 27928 and APC got 1601.

· Uzo Uwani council area, PDP got 13,850 and APC obtained 4868

· Enugu East council area, PDP obtained 22,946 and APC obtained 3291 while YPP secured 191. The council elections had issues in three units with two registration wards.

Atiku wins Adamawa

Atiku Abubakar also won his home state of Adamawa in the presidential election held last Saturday.

He polled 412, 266 to defeat President Muhammadu Buhari who scored 377,488.

Mr Buhari, however, won 11 of the state’s 21 local government areas, while Mr Abubakar picked the remaining 10. The results show a difference of 34,778 between them.

Although Mr Abubakar was tipped to narrowly win the state in the lead up to the February 23 election, fears that he may not clinch it gripped his supporters after he lost his polling unit to Mr Buhari on election day.

Analysis of the results shows Mr Abubakar scored heavily in Christian dominated areas of the state, while Mr Buhari did well amongst both Muslim and Christian voters.

According to the state collation officer, Anande Richard, a professor, Mr Abubakar polled 548,665 to defeat Muhammadu Buhari who scored 468,555 in the 17 LGAs of the state.

The difference between the two candidates is 80,110 votes.

Akwa Ibom

Atiku Abubakar, the presidential candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), also won the presidential election held in Akwa Ibom.

The former vice president defeated President Muhammadu Buhari in 28 of the 31 LGA’s in the state.

Elections did not take place in one local government area, Udung Uko, because of a militant attack on INEC officials, INEC said.

The PDP candidate, Atiku, scored 397,831 votes while his APC challenger, Mr Buhari, got 175,429 votes.

The presidential candidate of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP), Abubakar Atiku, has recorded a narrow victory over the All Progressives Congress (APC) candidate, President Muhammadu Buhari in Oyo State.

Atiku won with 1,490 votes.

Alhaji Atiku Abubakar narrowly won the presidential election in Edo state with 7849 votes more than his main rival, President Muhammadu Buhari.

The State Collation Officer for the Presidential election, Prof. Ndowa Lale announced at the INEC headquarters in Benin that Atiku scored 275,691 votes, while Buhari of the All Progressives Congress scored 267,842 votes.

However, Buhari beat Atiku in the number of councils won. He won in 10 while Atiku won in eight.

Lale who is the Vice-Chancellor of the University of Port-Harcourt, said the total number of registered voters in state was 2,150,127 while the total number of accredited voters was 604,915.

Lale noted that the number of valid votes was 560,711 while 38,517 votes were rejected.

He further said the total number of votes cast was 599,228.
