#NigeriaDecides2023: Kwankwaso wins Kano, Tinubu ahead in Katsina, Lagos, Obi leads in Plateau

Our reporter| The presidential candidate of the New Nigeria Peoples Party (NNPP), Rabiu Kwankwaso, has won 31 out of the 39 local government areas in Kano State.

The APC won in 8 local government Areas.

There are 44 local government areas in Kano but only results from eight had been announced at the INEC State Collation Centre at about 8:25 p.m.

Kwankwaso won with a landslide in his Madobi Local Government Area with 23,130 votes while the candidate of the All Progressive Congress (APC) got 12,038 votes. The Labour Party got 39 votes while the PDP got PDP 2393 votes in the local government area.

-Tinubu leads in Katsina, Lagos

Meanwhile, the presidential candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC) Bola Tinubu is leading his two main rivals Atiku Abubakar of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and Rabiu Kwankwaso of the New Nigeria Peoples Party (NNPP) in Katsina State.

So far, Tinubu has won 11 local government areas, while Atiku has triumphed in six in the 17 local government areas where results have been collated and announced so far.

The state has 34 local government areas, which means there 17 more local governments to go.

Tinubu has polled a total of 216,887 votes, while Mr Atiku has 201,542 votes.

Kwankwaso, who has yet to win in any local government area, is trailing with 23,298 votes.

Atiku of PDP won in Batsari Local Government area with 8,889 against Mr Tinubu’s 7,017. While the NNPP gets 1,096 in the area.

He also won Mashi with 16,086, APC with 12,868, and NNPP got 1107.

Another local government area which Atiku won is Kurfi where he polled 12,528 ahead of Tinubu who got 11,203. The PDP candidate also won Batagarawa with 16,987 against 13,950 polled by Tinubu.

Atiku also won Dutsin Ma with 17,917 ahead Tinubu who got 13,233 and Kwankwaso who got 3,799.

Kusada local government also went to the PDP with 10,990 while APC got 7,442 and NNPP polled 474.

Tinubu, however, won at Matazu with 12,008 ahead of Atiku who got 9,644, and Kwankwaso who polled 415. In Kaita, APC got 14,595, PDP 11,793 and NNPP 799.

In Musawa local government area, APC has 14,360, PDP 10,603, and NNPP 2,033. Tinubu won Ingawa with 12,315 while  Atiku got 12,152 and Kwankwaso 3,388.

In Charanci, Tinubu got 12,779 Mr Atiku got 8,020 and Mr Kwankwaso 609.

In Dutsi local government area, the APC candidate polled 9,258 votes ahead of Atiku’s 8,074 and Kwankwaso’s 289.

Mai’Adua local government area was won by Tinubu with 19,098 ahead of  Atiku who got 14,096 while Kwankwaso got 747.

In Rimi Local Government Area, the APC candidate got 16,759 ahead of the PDP which polled 15,318, and NNPP 1,039.

Tinubu also won Danmusa LGA by polling 11,259, while Atiku got 7,294 and Kwankwaso polled 699.

In Sandamu LGA, the APC candidate got 13,681, while the PDP’s got 10,434 and the NNPP’s got 399.

Ɗandume Local Government Area was also won by Tinubu who polled 15,062. Atiku trailed behind with 10,718 votes and Kwankwaso came third in the local government with 3,163 votes.

-Tinubu ahead in Lagos

The APC presidential candidate is also leading in Lagos following results released by Independent National Electoral Commission released on Sunday.

The results for the eight local governments (LGs) announced are Lagos Mainland, Ikorodu, Epe, Ibeju-Lekki, Lagos Island, Badagry, Agege, and Ikeja.

The collation officer for Eti Osa LGA could not specify the number of polling units where the process was disrupted. She was asked to give specifics and return to present the figures again.

-Atiku wins Osun

The presidential candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Atiku Abubakar, has won the presidential election in Osun State.

Atiku won in 20 local government areas with a total of 354,366 votes to defeat his closest rival, Bola Tinubu of the All Progressives Congress (APC), who scored 343,945 votes and won in 10 local governments.

The presidential candidate of the Labour Party, Peter Obi, came third in the race with a total of 23,283 votes followed by Rabiu Kwankwaso of the New Nigeria Peoples Party (NNPP) who scored 713 votes.

The total figures were announced by the INEC State Collation Officer, Folashade Ogunsola.

Mrs Ogunsola, a professor, said the total votes cast were 756744.

She noted that a total of 733,203 votes were considered valid votes while a total of 23,541 votes were rejected.

-Obi leads in Plateau

With three LGA results declared, the Presidential candidate of the Labour Party, Peter Obi has taken an early lead in Plateau State.

Declaring the result, the Returning Officer of Barkin Ladi LGA, Prof Noel Wonnang said, the exercise was peaceful and there was no challenge.

Wonnang declared that the candidate of the Labour Party, Peter Obi scored 32,489 votes to defeat the APC candidate Bola Ahmed Tinubu got 12,514, while the PDP candidate Atiku Abubakar got 9,073 votes.

Also, in Riyom LGA the Labour Party candidate Peter Obi polled 15,171 to defeat his closest challenger Atiku who got 8,181 votes.

While the APC candidate Tinubu scored 6, 936 votes.

In Mikang LGA, Atiku Abubakar polled 7,211 votes to defeat his closest challenger, Peter Obi of the Labour Party who got 7,201 votes.

While the APC candidate Bola Ahmed Tinubu scored 5,044 votes.

-Obi, Atiku Win 2 LGs Each in Kaduna

Peter Obi of the Labour Party (LP) and Atiku Abubakar of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) won two LGAs each in the presidential election

released in four LGAs in Kaduna state.

Obi won in Kaura and Kajuru LGAs while Abubakar won in Soba and Makarfi LGAs.

INEC is to continue the collation of results in the remaining 19 LGAs by 9am Monday.

-Tinubu leads Atiku, Obi in Jigawa with slim margin

The presidential candidate of the ruling All Progressives Congress, APC Bola Ahmad Tinubu is in early lead in Jigawa State for the results so far announced by the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC.

According to the available results so far received by the INEC at the presidential election collation centre in Dutse, the state capital, 15 local governments out of 27 local governments were announced.

Out of the fifteen local governments, APC won twelve while the opposition Peoples Democratic Party PDP won three.

-Atiku leads in Yobe

The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) on Sunday in Yobe State declared presidential results in six local government areas with the PDP candidate, Atiku Abubakar in the lead.

They are Gujba, Gulani, Damaturu, Tarmuwa, karasuwa and Machina.

The Collation Officer, Prof.Umaru Pate announced the results at the INEC presidential collation centre in Damaturu, the capital.

Pate is the Vice Chancellor of Federal University Kashere in Gombe State.
