NigeriaDecides2023: Obi loses Benue to APC by 2K votes

Our reporter| Bola Tinubu of the All Progressives Congress (APC) has won the presidential election in Benue state.

Faruk Kuta, returning officer of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), announced the result on Monday at the INEC head office in Makurdi, the state capital.

APC’s Tinubu polled 310,468 votes, followed by Peter Obi of the Labour Party (LP) who secured 308,372 votes.

The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) got 130,081 votes, while the New Nigeria Peoples Party (NNPP) polled 4,740 votes.

Obi won 15 LGAs including Guma, where Samuel Ortom, governor of Benue, hails from, while Tinubu secured eight LGAs.

The former Anambra state governor was projected to win the middle belt state following his endorsement by the state governor, Samuel Ortom.
