Nigerian Air Force helicopter crashes into water

An Agusta 106 Light Utility Helicopter belonging to the Nigerian Air Force, Thursday crashed into water in a yet-to-be-identified location in the northeast, after it suffered a technical hitch.

NAF Director of Public Relations and Information, Air Commodore Olatokunbo Adesanya, while confirming the incident, however, said no life was lost as the pilots ditched the aircraft to minimise damage.

According to Adesanya, “The Chief of the Air Staff has immediately directed the constitution of a board of inquiry to determine the exact cause of the incidence.

“Members of the board are already in Maiduguri to commence work.”
