Obama commends Buhari on fight against corruption, Terror

President Muahammadu Buhari Tuesday received words of praise and encouragement from U.S. President, Barack Obama, on his determined effort to rid the country of terrorism and corruption. For a President vilified at home for his anti corruption stance, the words of President Obama could not have come at a better time. The two presidents met on the sideline of the 71st United Nations General Assembly holding in New York City.

The United State President describes Nigeria as a very important country in the comity of nations and pledged to assist in the area of economy, agriculture, promising to inject more fund to assist Nigeria come out of recession.

In his response, President Buhari thanked the American President for the assistance so far in the fight against terrorism, especially in the training of the military. The President attributed the success recorded so far in the fight against terrorism is mainly due to the  contributions of the United States and other countries.
