Out going President Obama and first lady Michelle Obama welcomed President-elect Donald Trump and his wife, Melania, at the White House, where they exchanged pleasantries and posed for pictures.

“Mr President-elect, how are you?” Obama asked.

Melania extended her hand to Michelle, who hugged her instead, and handed the first lady a powder-blue Tiffany box.

He declined to identify what was inside the box.

The incoming president saluted two Marines standing guard behind them.

The Obamas then hosted a coffee and tea reception inside for the Trumps before the two couples leave for the US Capitol for the swearing-in ceremony.
