Obaseki: Adeboye assured me I will be re-elected

By our reporter| Governor Godwin Obaseki on Friday said the General Overseer of the Redeemed Christian Church of God, Pastor Enoch Adeboye assured him that he will be re-elected in the run-up to the state governorship election earlier this year.

Obaseki who gave the testimony at this year’s RCCG Holy Ghost Congress at the Church’s Headquarters along the Lagos-Ibadan Expressway, said that at the height of his second-term election travails and the highly revered cleric assured him that all would be well.

He said, “When it looked impossible and when men rose, He (God) came out to say that He is God and only He has the power.

“About the time when the crisis started a year ago, I came to the (RCCG) camp with my wife and met Daddy G.O.”

According to Obaseki after explaining his political challenges, Adeboye told him, “My son, it is well. Don’t be afraid, you will overcome and you will win.”

Obaseki further revealed that a few days before the September 19 Edo State Governorship Election, he again visited the cleric who once again assured him that all will be well.

“A few months before the election, I came again to see him (Adeboye) and he prayed for me and with me and he said, ‘It will be well,” Obaseki said.

The Edo state governor urged the congregation to hold on to God in the face of vicissitudes as all things are possible with God.
