Obaseki takes commanding lead In Edo governorship election

By our reporter| Edo State, Godwin Obaseki has taken a commanding lead as the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) announce results of polls conducted across the state on Saturday.

The incumbent governor has taken a commanding lead over his closest challenger, the candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Pastor Osagie Ize-Iyamu.

Obaseki has so far won 11 of the results of 13 local governments already announced by INEC.

Five local governments’ results are still being awaited.

A quick summation of the votes awarded to Obaseki in 13 local governments stood at 243,604, while Ize-Iyamu’s was 154,192.
