By our reporters| Ondo state first lady, Betty Anyanwu-Akeredolu has tested positive for COVID-19, a source at the Ondo government house, said on Thursday.
According to the source, the first lady has joined her husband who went into self-isolation on Tuesday after coming down with the highly contagious virus.
The wife of the late commissioner for health in the state, Oluwatoyin Adegbenro, has also reportedly tested positive for coronavirus.
Mrs Adegbenro is said to be receiving treatment at the hospital of her late husband in Akure, the state capital.
Four out of the 19 members of the state house of assembly who followed Akeredolu to Abuja for the submission of his re-election nomination form are also believed to have contracted the virus.
Meanwhile, the test results conducted for commissioners, senior special advisers, top political office holders in Ondo, and other aides attached to the governor’s office has not been made public.
