One Killed, Five Injured In Fresh Kaduna Attack

One Person was killed and five others injured when Unknown gunmen on Saturday night attacked Zankan village in Kaura Local Government Area of Kaduna state. The community, a predominantly Fulani settlement came under fire while residents were asleep at about 9pm.

Aliyu Usman, the Spokesman for the Kaduna State Police Command, who confirmed the incident to our correspondent, said  that security operatives have been deployed to the area to avert any form of fresh attacks or reprisal.

The Deputy Chief Imam in Jema’a Emirate Council, Mohammed Kabiru also disclosed that the gunmen killed a 13-year-old boy  while other injured were recieving treatment at a hospital in nearby Plateau state.

The Zakan Village attack came three days after Fulanis and natives of Southern Kaduna reached an accord to end the  killings in the area, a border town  between Kaduna and Plateau state.
