Paternity Scandal: FCMB appoints acting Managing Director

By our reporter| The management of First City Monument Bank on Wednesday appointed Yemisi Edun as its acting managing director.

The decision followed the leave of absence of its former Managing Director, Adam Nuru, who is involved in a paternity scandal with a former staff of the bank.

Nuru proceeded on leave earlier in the week to enable the bank to investigate allegations of unprofessional romantic affair leveled against him.

Last wek over 1900 people signed a petition asking the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) to sack the Mr Nuru.

According to the petitioners, Nuru was responsible for the demise of a staffer, Tunde Thomas who died of depression on December 16, 2020, when he became aware that the former FCMB MD allegedly had an affair with Moyo Thomas, his wife, resulting in two children.

The petition further alleged that Moyo had informed her husband that she was leaving Nigeria for the United States with the kids only to call him upon arrival that the children do not belong to him.

The news initially caused Mr. Thomas to have a stroke but he later recovered but was later said to have suffered a cardiac arrest after returning from work.

FCMB had on Tuesday in a statement called on the public to exercise caution over the allegations as a probe was already initiated the unravel the true situation.
