Following the sealing off of the International Conference Center, the venue earlier scheduled to host a meeting of the sacked National Caretaker Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Sen. Ahmed Makarfi’s faction of the PDP, governors and majority of elected members of the party Monday, trooped to Abuja home of Governor Ayodele Fyose to decide their next line of action for the embattled party.
Many members of the PDP, are believed to be canvassing for an alternative platform.
Prince Dayo Adeyeye, spokesman for the Makarafi led faction had earlier accused Senator Ali Modu Sheriff and the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) of conniving to kill the PDP.
According to him, “Senator Ali Modu Sheriff in collaboration with the All Progressive Congress (APC) led Federal Government has barricaded the ICC, venue of the scheduled Stakeholders Meeting of the entire organs of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).
“Senator Ali Modu Sheriff and his APC collaborators cannot stop the will of the people. Nigerians can now confirm that Senator Ali Modu Sheriff is a mole in PDP to destroy the only strong opposition in the country.”
There are clear indications that the protracted crisis in the PDP will continue to linger as the gladiators battle for the soul of the once celebrated biggest party in Africa.
