Ahmadu Fintiri of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) is set to emerge as the next governor of Adamawa State as the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) lost in all the 14 local government areas of the state where supplementary election took place on Thursday.
The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) who declared the March 9 governorship poll in the state inconclusive, conducted the election in 44 polling units.
Announcing the result of the rerun on Thursday in Yola, the Adamawa state capital, INEC said that Ahmadu Fintiri of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) polled 10,480 votes while Jibrilla Bindow, the incumbent governor and APC candidate secured 1391 votes.
Before the March 9 election was declared inconclusive, Fintiri, a former acting governor of the state, who ruled for only three months, had polled 367,471 votes, while Bindow had 334,995 votes.
The result showed that Fintiri was leading with a margin 32,476.
