Police return documents seized from Senator Goje’s house

Documents taken from the home of Senator Danjuma Goje during a raid in his Asokoro home last Friday have been returned.

The return of the documents was in response to a directive by the National Assembly to the Inspector General of Police, Ibrahim Idris, after it was reported that documents pertaining to the 2017 budget were among files taken away.

Senator Goje accused the police of stalling the passage of the 2017 budget as documents pertaining to the item were among those taken by the police during the raid on his home.

The police have, however, denied claims of taking the budget documents, but said that they found documents that detailed an assassination plot on a prominent politician.
