PREMIUM TIMES’ publisher, reporter freed by Police

The police have releasedThe Publisher of Premium Times, and Evelyn Okakwu, a reporter, earlier arrested on Thursday by officers of the Nigerian Police Force have been released. after delaying them for several hours.

They were arrested in connection of a report that the Code of Conduct Bureau (CCB) was investigating Tukur Buratai, chief of army staff, for allegations of corruption.

The spokesman for Abuja command of the police force,Don Awunah, had said the duo were arrested based on complaints filed by  lawyers to the Chief of Army staff.

The journalists were taken to the police headquarters at Garki 2, Abuja, and later transferred to a police station at Wuse  from they were later released.

Their release was equally confirmed by Premium Times on their Tweeter handle.

“We are happy to announce that both @DapsyOly and @EveOkakwu have been released on bail,” the publication tweeted.
