Senate President Bukola Saraki on Friday purchased the presidential nomination form of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).
Mohammed Wakil, director-general of the Saraki Presidential Campaign Organisation picked the form on behalf of the Senate president, according to a Tweet by Olu Onemola, special assistant on new media to the Senate president.
Onemola tweeted, “This afternoon, the Director-General of the Saraki Presidential Campaign Organization, Hon. Mohammed Wakil, obtained the Presidential Nomination and Expression of Interest forms from the PDP Headquarters on behalf of Presidential Aspirant, Sen. (Dr.) Abubakar Bukola Saraki.”
Saraki bought the form less than 24 hours after Aminu Tambuwal, governor of Sokoto state, purchased his.
Saraki on Thursday declared his intention to contest the 2019 presidential election at an event organised by the Not too young to run group.
The group later on Thursday disassociated its self from Saraki’s declaration, accusing him of acting in bad faith.
