Six out ff nine Abuja kidnapped victims regain freedom – Police

Yusuf Bello|The Nigeria Police on Saturday confirmed that six out of the nine victims kidnapped last Monday around Pegi Community in Abuja have been released.

The Force Public Relations Officer, Frank Mba, confirmed their release while responding to enquiries from newsmen.

The confirmation by the police followed the revealation by one of the victims, who prefers not to have his identity revealed that five out of nine persons have been released by their abductors after their families paid a ransom.

According to the victim, they were whisked away and hidden inside a hill in Nasarawa state, fed with stony rice, unhygienic water and kept in filthy environment

The victim who confirmed that a child of a senior DSS official is one of those released, also revealed meeting other victims in the camp and witnessed others brought in.

The Police Force PRO has promised to make full details of their release public.
