Taraba Lawmaker Bashir Mohammed abducted by gunmen

By our reporter| The lawmaker representing Nguroje Constituency in the Taraba State House of Assembly, Barr. Bashir Mohammed, was on Wednesday abducted by unknown gunmen.

According to a family source, Mohammed who is the Chairman House Committee on Information was picked up from his residence behind Dr. Jalo Eid prayer ground in Jalingo at about 1:45 am.

The operation, which the source said, lasted for about three hours, without any interference by any security operative to stop their operation.

The Taraba State Police command has not yet confirmed the abduction of the lawmaker.

Mohammed joins the growing list of lawmakers who have been kidnapped in recent years in Taraba state.
