Tinubu, APC, NADECO allies destroying Nigeria’s democracy – Peter Obi

ADC chieftain and former Labour Party presidential candidate, Peter Obi on Tuesday expressed concern over the state of the country’s democracy.

Obi accused President Bola Tinubu’s government of undermining democracy.

“Look at what has happened to our democracy. It is now being destroyed and is being destroyed by those who yesterday were victims of the same thingthat we were shouting to the world,” the former Anambra governor stated on Monday on ARISE TV amid the crises plaguing the African Democratic Congress.

“That is what is now surprising me in Nigeria: how people can show commitment to a course or promise something and when they’re given the opportunity, they will fail dramatically,” he added.

He pointed out that “nobody would have believed that we would find ourselves at this point in our democracy, given the people in leadership today”.

The presidential hopeful reasoned that the government in power “should ensure it protects opposition”.
