Our reporter| Barely eleven days before the presidential election, Asiwaju Bola Tinubu the presidential candidate of the ruling All Progressives Congress, has vowed to continue with the developmental programmes of the President, Muhammadu Buhari if elected the next president of the country.
Tinubu, who spoke on Tuesday at the APC South-East grand finale rally in Owerri, said that the Peoples Democratic Party refused to move the country forward when they were in power.
According to the former Lagos state governor, Buhari’s eight year reign was a retooling process, pledging to invest in education, build infrastructure and be prudent, if elected.
“PDP stole Nigeria’s treasure. President Buhari’s eight years is a retooling process. PDP are liars. We will continue with developmental programmes of APC, it will not stop. Imo is the destination for tourism, we will add value to real estate in Imo state, invest in education, build and reconstruct your roads in Imo. No more issue of ASUU strike. We will be prudent and manage revenue generation capacity, we will bring peace, we will work with the state to ensure security,” Tinubu said.
Also speaking at the rally, President Buhari, who handed over APC’s flag to Tinubu, assured supporters that Tinubu would deliver if elected to succeed him.
Imo state, Hope Uzodinma, and his Ebonyi State counterpart, Dave Umahi assured the party that the southeast would deliver for APC in the February 25 presidential election.
“Imo people are grateful to Mr. President. We sought your support for building of roads and fighting insecurity in Imo State and you approved. It is time to reciprocate that support by voting for APC,” Uzodinma said.
