Our reporter/ The Nigerian Correctional Service on Monday revealed that said notorious crossdresser, Idris Okuneye, also known as Bobrisky, was not placed in a male prison cell due to his distinctly female physical features.
The Deputy Controller of Corrections at the Medium Security Custodial Centre in Kirikiri, Lagos State, Michael Anugwa, made the disclosure during a House of Representatives hearing concerning the N15 million bribe case involving the controversial crossdresser.
According to Anugwa, Bobrisky’s admission into the prison system presented unique challenges.
“During the admission, we discovered Idris has peculiar features that did not allow us to put him in the general cell,” he stated, referencing Bobrisky’s feminine attributes, and saying “Idris had female features like breast.”
To back this claim, Anugwa presented a medical examination conducted by a practitioner, confirming Bobrisky’s female-like features.
He also said that in accordance with both Nigerian laws and international human rights standards set by the United Nations, the decision was made to transfer Bobrisky to protective custody.
He added that the crossdresser was assigned to B Ward, Room Two of the facility, where he stayed alone to avoid any issues that could arise from placing him with the general male population.
The senior prison official stated that Bobrisky refused to eat the regular prison food and instead requested self-feeding, a right allowed by the law.
“He nominated two people, Abiola Okuneye and Moji Okuneye, to bring him food,” the official added.
Meanwhile, Blogger Martins Otse known as VeryDarkMan had earlier revealed how he got a controversial phone recording of Bobrisky.
VeryDarkMan made the revelation when he presented himself before a House of Representatives panel investigating bribery allegations involving the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) and the Nigerian Correctional Service (NCoS).
The blogger, who initially refused to address the committee, in the absence of Bobrisky who was also invited but sent a lawyer instead was later persuaded by his lawyer to address the committee.
VeryDarkMan explained the authenticity of the trending audio record, stating that it was received from someone whom Bobrisky owed money, as he submitted part of the recording to the committee.
In a viral video, VeryDarkMan alleged that Bobrisky paid ₦15 million for the anti-graft agency to drop money laundering charges against him during his naira spraying ordeal in April after which a court sentenced him to six months’ imprisonment.
He also alleged that Bobrisky paid some millions of naira to secure a choice place in prison.
