About eleven people are believed killed by three suicide bombers in three different areas of Maiduguri, Bornu State, North East Nigeria, according to a report in The Cable.
The online publication reports that a security source informed them that two bombers detonated their explosives around Molai Kalamari at exactly 10 pm on Tuesday.
The second explosion was said to have taken place at Sabongari Polo area of the state capital.
“I cannot specifically tell you whether the suicide bombers were male or female. But we have deployed emergency response team to the scene,” the source said.
Ibrahim Baba, a resident of Molai Kalamari, said the explosion occurred very close to his residence.
“We all woke up in fear and shock. The sound was loud as if it happened inside my house,” he said.
Boko Haram has renewed attacks in Maiduguri and its environs recently a situation that lead to the deployment 3,000 policemen as well as sniffer dogs to curtail such attacks earlier in the week.
