Arik Airline has resumed operations following resolution of the labour crisis that grounded its operations on Thursday, according to a statement from the airline’s information department.
The airline, which was picketed on Thursday, said that it held a meeting, which was mediated by the Nigeria Civil Aviation Authority, with the different labour unions involved and had reached a compromise on the issues that led to the imbroglio.
Mr. Simon Tumba, Arik’s media officer, said in a statement that the different sides held a meeting on Thursday evening to resolve the issues.
Speaking on behalf of Captain Roy Ilegbodu, Arik’s CEO, Tumba said: “the management apologise to its customers for the disruption of services on Thursday following the picketing of its operations by the unions.”
“We reassure our customers of timely departure, great travel experience and look forward to welcoming them on board our flights.’’
