How Mrs Margaret Emefiele was rescued

It has emerged that Mrs  Margaret Emefiele, the wife of Nigeria’s Central Bank Governor had four armed security personnel when she was kidnapped on Thursday along Benin -Agbor road. She was however rescued by a combined team of Airforce, Navy,Police, DIA and DSS personnel early Saturday morning at Ugolekii in Edo State.

Details of the behind the scene moves that lead to her release have started to emerge.Following  her abduction, a massive manhunt for her abductors began late Thursday evening involving a combined team of police, Airforce, Navy and DSS operatives. The Chief of the Air Staff, Air Marshal Sadique Abubakar, ordered the deployment of the ATR 42 maritime surveillance aircraft to comb the creeks of Edo and Delta states in search of the kidnappers. Also, Air Commodore Sani Zakari, the Commander of the 61 NAF Detachment Station, Warri, relocated to Warri to coordinate  Airforce personnel involved in the search and eventual rescue of Mrs Emefiele. Also involved in the search were operatives of the Defence Intelligence agency (DIA), DSS and the police, under the command of Delta State Police Commissioner, Mr Ibrahim Zanna, who lead the team to the location of the kidnappers after they  were tracked by sophisticated security systems. As was reported by Alabingo Mrs. Emefiele was abducted three days ago at Uvbe along Benin-Agbor Road, Edo State.

Meanwhile Mr Emefiele, yesterday, expressed gratitude to God, President Muhammadu Buhari and security agencies for the rescue of his wife.
