It is no longer news that Janet Jackson has separated from her husband, Wissam Al Mana, just a few months after the two had their first and what would probably be their last child together.
While many are wondering the reason behind the break-up, it has emerged that prior to their wedding five years ago, Jackson, 50, signed a prenuptial with her 42-year-old husband that states that she is not entitled to a part of the billionaire’s fortune if she leaves the marriage before it reaches five years.
Jackson, who is worth $175 million herself, is expected to receive $500 million from the divorce proceedings due to the stipulation of the prenup, which states that she is entitled to half a billion dollars of his Al Mana’s fortune if she spends a minimum of five years in the marriage.
Janet spent five years and two months at the time she separated from Al Mana, thus making her eligible to receive the settlement due from the prenup.
Al Mana is the executive director of a family business known as the Al Mana Group and is reportedly worth an estimated £820 million.
